Hi There! I'm Victoria.

And I teach English and live in Corsica.

What? That's so crazy!

For the next 7 months I will be living abroad while teaching English in a region of France called Corsica. It's a southern island region not too far from Italy! I don't know what the next few months will hold, but I'm betting it'll be something worth writing about :)

How I fell in love with traveling

When I was little, I went to amazing places with my family. My parents passed down the travel bug to me and my two siblings. They showed us to travel the world with wonder and an appreciation for the new places we visited. I especially remember our trips to Yellowstone National Park, New York City, and Niagara Falls. My parents also exposed me to countries vastly different from my own, an experience which completely changed how I looked at things. After we took our first trek to non-English speaking countries in 2004, I was hooked.

In 2010, the summer before my senior year of high school, I went out on a limb and stayed with a southern Italian family in a little town called San Ferdinando. I met amazing people who helped me become more open-minded and courageous. I was completely out of my comfort zone. It was hard and terrifying and I'm all the better for it. That fall I went back to school a totally different person.  Nothing had been more challenging, rewarding, or life-changing than those few weeks immersed in a foreign country.

Now I travel as much as I can, however I can. I'm lucky enough to say that I've been to many different parts of the world and have met some truly wonderful people on my travels.  I can't wait to share my adventures with you, over the internet. (I'm a millennial. We love oversharing on the internet.) And I leave pretty soon so I guess I'd better start packing :)
